Hey guys so this week I caught up with Chris Buck, of the Chris Buck Band. Chris Buck is well-known for his Reggae/Country style, and his band consists of Phil Puxley, Jordan Pritchett, Seamus O’Neill and Michael Vanderlans. now you might notice 2 names on there that may sound familiar, Jordan Pritchett and Seamus O'Neill, yes they are doing the extraordinary and playing in 2 bands. Faber Drive being the other. The Chris Buck Band have played every major country festival/venue in British Columbia and many other parts of Canada within the last 2 years, including Merritt Mountain Music Fest. so with that little hype up lets get to it.
ITS - So why don't you tell us who is The Chris Buck Band and how you came together as a band.
Chris -"The Chris Buck Band started almost 6 years ago playing various Clubs and festivals. We have spent the last 2 years recording our first album and should be released in the next few weeks."
ITS - So you have a lot if shows planned for the next little while playing at various country cabarets, what excites you most about playing these shows?
Chris - "I'd say meeting new fans and seeing their excitement to hear our new album. We got great local support , really neat!"
ITS - Who are your biggest influences and why?
Chris - "Bob Marley\Johnny Cash - Our music has a good mix between some reggae/country music!"
ITS - Are there any big plans in the works for 2014 for CBB?
Chris - "Huge plans. I mentioned we have a 10 song album coming out also a music video we shot in the Caribbean. New website and merchandise will also be released in 2014!"
ITS - How is the country scene in Vancouver?
Chris - "The country scene in Vancouver is doing better each year. We have a lot of great artist's here."
ITS - So just a question for Seamus, with being in 2 bands, what is a day like in the life of Seamus?
Seamus - "It's very busy and at times Im running around like a chicken with its head cut off (although I dont see how a chicken with its head cut off would be able to run) but I wouldn't trade it for anything! Heck if I had it may way I would just play in front of a big huge rockshow crowd from the time I woke up until the time I went to bed. Imagine how great that would be ......set up a bed on stage and when you wake up theres a ton of people waiting to see you play!"
Final question - Fun question what is the typical choice for a pre gig meal?
Chris - "Beer is my pre game meal:)"
